Heading for Tubes

Well, Yoda has his 5th ear infection. The last three he hasn't even had a cold, just an ear infection. So, we are getting a referral to an Ear, Nose and Throat doctor to see about getting tubes. I am looking forward to him having some relief from the infections, but not towards the getting the tubes part. I hate for my baby to have to go to sleep, even for a short time. Today he is feeling much better, which means that I actually got some sleep last night. PTL!
At the doctor's office he weighed 26 pounds, 10 ounces. He is walking all over the place. Here are a few pictures of him on the move.

He likes to bend over and put his head on the floor. We are not sure why he does it, but we think it is very funny. And he likes sticks. He is all boy!

  1. Amy,

I do feel for your little Yoda. My Brianna started with ear infections when she 3 months old. She was at long last diagnosed with chronic ear infections because she could not go off antibiotics or they were back with in days. She spent 18 months on non stop antibiotics sleeping sitting on my shoulder as I sat up in the rocker. The pressure when she laid down was too painful for her to sleep. We were stuck in an HMO. The doctors agreed she needed tubes but the insurance would not approve it. We ran the risk of permanent hearing loss. When she was 16 months we were able to switch to a different insurance and at 18 months she got the tubes. She is 13, 14 next week, and has had only 2 infections since. I pray for him to have fast work of it and quick, complete healing.

  2. Amy,
I hope the tubes goes well. Wee Babe has them. It was hard to send him back to the OR, but it was super duper quick. Be sure to let us know when it's scheduled.

Hey, about Tapestry, know that it can be a bit daunting when you first look at it. But you sound like a pro (nine cores!), so it may not overwhelm you. I had planned to do Core 3 and Core 100, but when I realized they would not be on the same exact time period at the same time every week, I started rethinking it. That coupled with the desire for Biblical thinking Qs led me to TOG. I'm glad Sonlight has worked for you. It's a wonderful curric.

    in Him,
